Hello, and welcome to our first blog post!
We have introduced this feature so that we can share with you some of the behind the scenes work that is going on within Our Angel Bears, provide you with updates on the support we can offer, share some personal stories with you and have an opportunity to welcome some guest bloggers to share their experiences - if this is something you would be interested in then please drop us a line on our contact us page.
It has been a busy week for the team here - we have met with a number of businesses to discuss further funding, have launched our forum on the website, worked on some new ideas for features and merchandise, and held our first ever support group in our new location in Poole.
We appreciate that our support groups are only held locally to the team members of Our Angel Bears at present so are not suitable for everyone, and this is part of the reason we have launched our forum so that we can reach out and support more people.
We would love for you to engage in the forum and share your experiences. Whilst it is such a personal and emotive subject, we have found that sharing, discussing and supporting one another can be a real help in the healing process. And if you’re not ready to start that process yet then it is a safe space to vent, rant or cry with no judgement or unsolicited advice - if you just want to share your story and pour your heart out to others who have had similar experiences then please do so. Please remember that Our Angel Bears is for everyone who has experienced baby or child loss in any way so anyone who finds themselves in this unfortunate club is welcome here.
We would also really appreciate hearing from you about what you would like to see from us in the future. We have our 5th anniversary on 3rd June 2022 and are reviewing what we offer and how we can further support you, so if there is something we are missing which you would like to see on our socials or website, a keepsake product you would like to purchase to remember your angel that we don’t currently stock, or anything else then please do send us a message via our social media pages or the contact us link on this website.
We would like to finish this weeks blog with a little plea - if you have attended one of our support groups, received one of our keepsake packages or interacted with us through messages and have found this useful, we would be grateful if you could send us a line or two with what this has meant to you. As you know, we are a small charity with limited funding, so being able to demonstrate the work that we do and the positive impact this has on the families who we support is vital when applying and securing future funding so that we can continue this work.
